Job Description

Specialized Research Position: Advanced Human Genomic/DNA Data Analysis and Research & Development (R&D) of New Clinical Assays

This role focuses purely on data analysis and core research rather than IT infrastructure or pipeline automation. Responsibilities will be flexibly adjusted based on the candidate’s skills and experience.

・Collection, analysis, and advanced statistical processing of clinical data.

・Data mining and modeling, including regression and correlation analysis.

・Detailed profiling, variant calling, annotation, and scientific interpretation of NGS data.

・Researching and conceptualizing new genetic testing methodologies and analytical algorithms based on extensive scoping of the latest global scientific literature.

Qualifications

【Requirements(Must)】

Education: Ph.D. completed or nearing completion.
Research/Professional Experience: Proven research track record or hands-on work experience strictly focused on “Human” DNA, genetics, or genomic data analysis.
Role Specifics: Professional experience as a Bioinformatics Scientist with hands-on expertise in data analysis using Python.
Japanese Language Proficiency: JLPT N2 level or higher (Intermediate to advanced: Capable of smooth day-to-day communication and collaboration within the team).

If working in Japanese is difficult, business-level English or higher is strictly required.

English Language Proficiency: Business level or higher (Professional/Research level)

Required as all genomic data used for analysis, public databases, and the latest scientific literature are entirely in English.

Technical Skills: Strong statistical analysis and data handling skills in Python or R specifically tailored for human genomic data. (Experience in IT infrastructure or pipeline development is NOT required.)
Current Location: Must currently reside in Japan (Applicants currently living overseas will not be considered).

【Preferred Skills (Want)】

Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis tools in a professional or practical setting.
Professional experience in bioinformatics.
Knowledge of medical statistics.
Business-level Japanese proficiency and a deep background in clinical genetics.
Experience presenting at international conferences or a track record of publishing peer-reviewed papers.
